I created this 4-layer block print for Billy Strings’ upcoming shows in tribute to Huntsville’s connection to space exploration. Huntsville, nicknamed "Rocket City," is home to the US Space and Rocket Center (aka Space Camp!).

I incorporated crystals that are native to Alabama - emerald, garnet, tourmaline, citrine, amethyst, aquamarine, and star blue quartz, the official state crystal.

The constellation Orion sits in the center sky, with Saturn and a “UFGoat” flanking the left and right side of the sky.

The focal point in the foreground - the skull/helmet - was inspired by a sketch my friend and collaborator, Chris Robertson, sent me during our brainstorming process.

Finally I added some meteors to the scene, as a nod to the Perseid meteor showers that were peaking the other night while I was carving away at the keyline block.
